The Why
The Why Behind ArabesQ
ArabesQ brings people closer to the Arab world – as a feeling. Four places in Düsseldorf, one hospitality, the right one for every moment.
Dr. Shukry Na'amnieh
Managing Director
Dr. Shukry Na'amnieh grew up in Nazareth before moving to Germany to study in the 1990s – and eventually settling in Düsseldorf. He's lived here for around 30 years.
By profession, he's a biochemist and molecular biologist with a doctorate, specializing in enzyme development. He has founded several companies, including in biotech. His guiding principle: keep building something new, to make a difference.
In 2012, he opened ArabesQ, his first restaurant. His goal was clear from the start: to bring people closer to Arab culture – the ambiance, the hospitality, the feeling. That's still the core of the brand today: a bridge between two worlds.
A Bridge Between Two Worlds
We are the bridge between two worlds: the warmth and hospitality of Arab culture, translated into a language that's easy to understand even on your very first Middle Eastern meal.
Elegant, warm, open-minded, curious, high-quality, welcoming – that's how we want to meet you. With genuine hospitality, honest cooking, and a place where you feel welcome from the very first minute.
Nina Brandon
Managing Director
There from the start. Fate had a different path in mind for Nina Brandon, too. Born and raised in Hamburg, her career path first led her into law. Today, since ArabesQ was founded 14 years ago, she has played a key role as Managing Director in turning special occasions into unforgettable experiences.
Whether it's a wedding, a family celebration, a corporate event or a deeply personal occasion – she guides every event from the first enquiry to the very last detail.
Her particular passion lies in the atmosphere, the decor, the interior and the many small details that turn an individual celebration into an unforgettable experience.
Because for her, a special experience isn't created by the big picture alone, but by the sum of all the small things, shaped with care and heart.
The Place
The Jägerhaus at Staufenplatz
At Staufenplatz in Düsseldorf-Grafenberg stands the listed Jägerhaus, which locals in Grafenberg affectionately call the "Türmchenhaus" (little tower house). At first glance, it looks like a venerable old building with stories from times past. But behind its historic façade hides an entirely different world – and a story with far more to it than you'd expect.

Inside: an Arabian palace. Long corridors, mosaic walls, with a small fountain trickling at its center. Blue velvet chairs and opulent decorative touches evoke a Marrakech bazaar.
The renovation took around two years. On the outside, thanks to heritage protection, everything had to stay as it was.
"From the outside it had to stay as it was. Inside, I was free to let loose."
One Kitchen, Four Faces
The same heart, served differently for every moment
The kitchen is the same across all four places – just presented and portioned differently. The difference isn't on the plate, it's in the moment: whether it's a formal dinner, cocktails by the water, or a quick good bite in everyday life.
